PMR-ID: Personal Medical Record Securely Shared In Blockchain

This abstract has open access
Description of Session
Patients medical records have been stored and secured in clinic, hospital and major trusted custodian company. While the current process has been proved efficient, accessing and sharing among patients are still facing its difficulty. Public has its concerns over patient’s privacy. There have been efforts in recent years to tackle sharing PHR but their solution is not concise and robust as the proposal here. We are proposing an innovative approach to manage and share Personal Medical Records securely based on blockchain. Our novel approach effectively resolve the high cost and risk of sharing PMR across public network. This new approach focuses on robust protocol to approve, update and expire user access to patients owned data without revealing content to the public. Validations are done by data owners. It employs a schema to allow update of the content, expiration of precious approved collaborator to the records. In this tech talk session, we will discuss and explore this novel approach in both high level and deep dive into technical discussions.
