20191210T1030 20191210T1145 America/New_York Networking the Networks: Key Enablers of Digital Principles

With the emergence of digital health technologies there are still great challenges in being able to effectively share information on new technologies, evidence, best practices and toolkits, to name a few. There are a multiplicity of ways in which global, regional and national networks of digital health practitioners can share information within their own membership as well as across networks. The Global Digital Health Network (GDHN), Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN), Central American Network of Health Informatics (ReCAINSA), African Alliance of Digital Health Networks (African Alliance), and Pacific Health Information Network (PHIN) will share their approaches to knowledge management as well as the particular challenges they are seeking to address. This session will discuss the "software" side of the digital health landscape, which is required to effectively share knowledge, tools and best practices around the globe. Software in this sense refers to the people and connections required to complement the "hardware" or digital health tools developed to support digital health transformation. The speakers will advocate for increased investment in connecting the networks to each other as well as demonstrate how the networks are stronger working together and how they can have a multiplier effect for digital health resources that are shared and highlighted. The speakers will also illustrate how essential strong knowledge sharing networks are to support global and local digital actors in following the Principles for Digital Development as well as the Principles for Donor Alignment in Digital Health.
