Fill the GAPS: Digital Health Capacity-building for Governments

This abstract has open access
Description of Session
Since 2011, the Asia eHealth Information Network has created opportunities for capacity-building in health information systems development. It has now summarized four areas of focus in capacity-building: governance, architecture, program management, standards and interoperability (or GAPS). By offering ready-made certification training programs, applying newly-learned skills in real-world environments, and allowing knowledge exchange through peer learning, AeHIN has been able to form a cadre of digital health practitioners/experts positioned in Ministries of Health. By connecting these practitioners/experts into a network, they further provide value not only to their country but also to the region. AeHIN aims to share this methodology to other regions as well and form a global network of eHealth experts in places of influence.
